A few years ago a friend of mine was working in Dominican Republic in the carrebean. It is the 'other' half of Haiti. He was so appalled at the way people live there that he decided along with a few local boys to improve the living conditions. He decided it would not be a good idea to just 'throw' money at the problem as it often happens the right people dont usually get the benefits. So it was decided to provide a self help program. This program is destined to take a few years to come to fruition mostly by the people's own efforts.
One of the big problems has always been funding. Over the last few years contacts have been made and schemes fell through. Why did they fall through? Simple. All the people who were prepared to help wanted something from it. Usually profits. Well that was not the idea. The idea was any funds generated would be ploughed back into the scheme for the benefit of the local population with no forseeable profit for anyone. Many people pulled out because there was nothing in it for them.
One man and a number of boys have held this dream in their minds for 6 years. The man Raimund J Wild has written some books for the sole purpose of raising funds. His books are available on Amazon and various other booksellers lists.
